Abstract:
Provided is a wire saw that is light and small and has excellent portability, has excellent sharpness compared to the conventional wire saw, and is difficult to jam by chips.
A wire saw (7) is provided with a main body (6) having a first metal wire (1) comprising a cobalt-based alloy, two second metal wires (2a, 2b) comprising a cobalt-based alloy, three third metal wires (3a-3c) comprising a cobalt-based alloy and installed in combination with the first metal wire (1). The second metal wires (2a, 2b) are installed, in a state of being crossed and combined spirally in the opposite directions against each other, in combination with each of the third metal wires (3a-3c). The wire saw is provided with recessed portions (8) and projecting portions (9) which are formed by the cross points (8) between the two second metal wires (2a, 2b) in the length direction of each of the two second metal wires (2a, 2b). The diameter of the first metal wire (1) is larger than that of the second metal wires (2a, 2b). The diameter of each of the third metal wires (3a-3c) is smaller than that of the first metal wire (1) but larger than the diameter of each of the second metal wires (2a, 2b).
