Abstract:
When a cellular telephone is misplaced or robbed, i.e., when the cellular telephone is apart from its owner, the use of the cellular telephone is limited, an unauthorized use of the cellular telephone is prevented and the owner is warned that the cellular telephone is apart so that the owner may recognize the separation. A use limit apparatus includes a signal transmission unit (10) and a use limit withdrawing unit provided integrally with the apparatus whose use is to be limited. Each of the units includes a transmitter and a receiver, and an identification code signal from the transmission unit (10) is received by the withdrawing unit. According to the signal, a withdrawing signal of the use limit is output. When an acknowledgement code signal is returned, the transmission unit (10) decides that the state is normal. When these units are separated by more than a predetermined distance, the signal reception level is lowered, the withdrawing unit stops the withdrawing signal, and the transmission unit (10) gives warning.
