A wireless charging system and method. The system comprises an intelligent management device (120) and a wireless charging transmitter (140). The intelligent management device (120) is used for receiving a wireless charging request of a mobile terminal (160), generating a wireless charging indication according to first position information of the mobile terminal and second position information of the wireless charging transmitter, and sending the wireless charging indication to the wireless charging transmitter. The wireless charging transmitter (140) is used for receiving the wireless charging indication, determining a transmission direction according to direction information in the wireless charging indication, and transmitting wireless energy waves towards the transmission direction. The present invention solves the problem in the related art that only short-distance wireless charging can be implemented because a charging base is required by a mobile terminal for wireless charging, so that an intelligent management device can control a wireless charging transmitter to transmit, according to a transmission direction, wireless energy waves to the mobile terminal that sends a wireless charging request, thereby implementing directed, real-time, long-distance wireless charging of the mobile terminal.
