Abstract:
A wireless communication apparatus which can retain compatibility with a plurality of communication schemes while returning response signals within the allowed periods of time prescribed by the communication schemes; and a wireless communication method for the same. The wireless communication apparatus comprises: a wireless reception unit (120) which receives a packet having a format based on a first communication scheme, said format including a second format portion based on a second communication scheme that uses a frequency band higher than the first communication scheme, and a first format portion excluding the second format portion; and a processing unit (160) which outputs a response signal if demodulation and decoding of the first format portion of the packet is finished, regardless of whether demodulation and decoding of the second format portion of the packet is finished.
