A wireless communication device composed of a transmission station and one or more reception stations, with an addressed reception station receiving a transmission signal of the transmission station, wherein: the wireless communication device comprises a plurality of relay stations positioned between the transmission station and the reception stations; the transmission station is provided with a relay station selection means for selecting at least one relay station that relays the transmission signal from among the plurality of relay stations, and transmitting the transmission signal with the addition of information that turns the selected relay station on; the relay stations are configured so as to be turned on in accordance with the information in the transmission signal and to relay the transmission signal without reproducing the same; and the transmission signal relayed via the relay station that is turned on is received by the addressed reception station.
