Abstract:
A wireless communication device provided with a flow rate measurement unit (3) connected to fluid piping (2), and a first antenna element (4) for transmitting and receiving radio waves, the longitudinal direction of the first antenna element (4) being orthogonal to the axial direction of the fluid piping (2). With this configuration, the polarization plane direction of the antenna radiation from the first antenna element (4) is orthogonal to the fluid piping (2), whereby it is possible to obtain radiation of the radio waves in the direction in which the fluid piping (2) is provided, namely, in the direction of the back surface of the meter in which the wireless communication device is installed, without the radio waves being reflected by the fluid piping (2).
