Abstract:
An onboard router (1), wherein a short-range communication module (10A) is an apparatus capable of wireless communication. A long-range communication module (10B) is an apparatus capable of wireless communication in a wider area than for the short-range communication module (10A). An Ethernet module (30) is communicably connected to an in-vehicle LAN (2b) within a vehicle. A CPU (60) controls the short-range communication module (10A) and the long-range communication module (10B) and communicates with the in-vehicle LAN (2b) via the Ethernet module (30). The short-range communication module (10A), the long-range communication module (10B), the Ethernet module (30), and the CPU (60) are assembled in a housing (70) that is provided in the vehicle. This configuration enables the onboard router (1) to appropriately control each of the communication modules due to improved mountability.
