Abstract:
Provided is a wireless communication device that uses an exterior metal frame as an antenna, wherein a decrease in antenna performance due to the metal frame being touched with a hand is suppressed. The wireless communication device is provided with: a metal frame that surrounds the side surfaces of a main body part formed in a plate shape; and a ground plate that is accommodated in the main body part. The metal frame is electrically connected to a feeding point in a midway portion of a first frame defined by a first gap and a second gap provided in the metal frame, and includes a monopole antenna that is defined by the midway portion and the second gap and resonates by radio waves of a first frequency, a first conductor part that is defined by the second gap and a third gap provided in the metal frame and is insulated from the ground plate, and a second conductor part that is defined by the first gap and the third gap and in which at least the end portion on the third gap side is electrically connected to the ground plate. The total length of the monopole antenna and the first conductor part is a length enabling, as a loop antenna, resonance by the radio waves of the first frequency.
