Abstract:
A mobile terminal of dual mode is connectable to two different wireless communication systems (hereinafter referred to as wireless (1) and wireless (2))and capable of having communication. Considering the state (moving speed, communication speed) in which the mobile terminal is placed, even if the mobile terminal is in communication through any of the wirelesses (1, 2), a most suitable wireless communication system can be selected. When a mobile terminal (3) is connectable to the wireless (1) having a wide service area and an intermediate/low communication speed and the wireless (2) having a local service area and a high communication speed, the mobile terminal (3) judges whether it is in or out of the respective service areas of the wirelesses (1, 2). Referring to the current moving speed and/or communication speed, regardless of whether or not the mobile terminal is in a communication state, if the current moving speed of the terminal is higher than a predetermined threshold, the mobile terminal is connected to the wireless (1); contrarily if the current moving speed is lower than the predetermined threshold, the mobile terminal is connected to the wireless (2). Similarly, if the current communication speed of the mobile terminal is higher than a predetermined threshold, the mobile terminal is connected to the wireless (2); contrarily if the current communication speed is lower than the threshold, the mobile terminal is connected to the wireless (1). Prior to the connection, the fact that the connection will be set up is reported to the user, and the connection is set up according to the instruction of the user.
