One of a base station device, a mobile station device, and a relay station device measures a transmission path quality required for selecting a path to be used for communication between a first path and a second path. The base station device or the mobile station device selects a path to be used for communication in accordance with the connection state of the mobile station device and the relay station device with the base station device, and on the basis of the measurement result which can be acquired.
