Title:
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND RECEIVING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/186000
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to improve a transmission rate by selecting an appropriate modulation scheme and code rate, even in an environment having a high antenna correlation or an environment having contamination by a narrow bandwidth interference signal. The receiving device of the present invention is a receiving device in which encoded bits are generated by subjecting an information bit input to an error correction coding process, and in which a modulated signal comprising the encoded bits that have been digitally modulated is received, characterized in that the receiving device is provided with: a demodulating means which calculates, from the received signal, a log likelihood ratio for the encoded bits that have been subjected to error correction coding; a means for calculating an average mutual information quantity in relation to the log likelihood ratio for the encoded bits; a means for calculating a transmission margin from the average mutual information quantity and a demodulating unit input mutual information quantity or a demodulating unit output mutual information quantity satisfying a required bit error rate; and an error correction coding means which supports error correction coding from the log likelihood ratio for the input encoded bits.
