Abstract:
[Problem] To enable a user terminal to more suitably switch a connection destination with a margin before communication with a base station is cut off. [Solution] Provided is a wireless communication system in which a user terminal 7 mounted in a host vehicle V1 serving as a moving body capable of moving on a road and an access point 4 carry out wireless communication, wherein: the access point is provided with a main communication unit 26 for carrying out wireless communication with the user terminal in a primary manner, and an auxiliary communication unit 27 for observing the environment of communication with the user terminal; and the user terminal carries out wireless communication with the access point by using a wireless communication unit 71 and, on the basis of the status of connection with the auxiliary communication unit of the access point, executes a process for switching a connection destination to another base station if it is predicted that a connection with the main communication unit of the access point will be poor.
