In a wireless communication system, a first-wireless-station control unit for executing a registration process transmits, from a wireless transceiver unit, a registration-prompting "start registration" message to a second wireless station that is another wireless station. When the "start registration" message is received, a second-wireless-station control unit transmits from the wireless transceiver unit to the first wireless station an acknowledgment message that includes an identification code for the second wireless station. When the acknowledgment message is received, the first-wireless-station control unit stores registration information that includes the identification code of the first wireless station and each of the identification codes of all the second wireless stations form which a reply was received, and transmits from the wireless transceiving unit to all of the second wireless stations from which a reply was received a registration message that includes the registration information.
