Abstract:
If the number of affiliated slave units is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, a wireless LAN access point implements a shaping operation for calculating an upper limit for a communication speed of the affiliated slave units (sequence Seq17), extracts, from among data transfer rates detected by analyzing header parts of communication packets transmitted to and received from the respective affiliated slave units, the highest or lowest data transfer rate as a shaping data transfer rate, calculates the upper limit for the communication speed of the affiliated slave units on the basis of a correction coefficient arbitrarily set for converting the shaping data transfer rate into an effective data transfer rate, the shaping data transfer rate, and the number of affiliated slave units (sequence Seq18), and sets the upper limit as the upper limit for the communication speed of each affiliated slave unit. Consequently, provided is a wireless LAN system in which respective slave units can perform fair communication, by setting an upper limit for the communication speed thereof that is appropriate for the environment.
