Abstract:
A wireless power transmitting apparatus disclosed herein comprises: a plate; a communication circuit which communicates with a wireless device placed on the upper surface of the plate; a plurality of distance sensors which are provided around the driving region of the plate to acquire data on the distance to an object lying on the upper surface of the plate; a transmitting coil which transmits wireless power to the wireless device; and a controller which determines, on the basis of the distance data, whether a foreign object exists between the plate and the wireless device, and determines, on the basis of whether the foreign object exists, whether to transmit the wireless power.
