Abstract:
In a wiring device for detecting a leakage current of an electrical path connecting commercial power supply and a load to interrupt the electrical path, the leakage is interrupted reliably even if the leakage current has a distorted waveform. A wiring device (1) comprises a leakage control unit (4) for detecting a leakage current flowing through an electrical path connecting commercial power supply and a load (30) to perform leakage determination and a switching section (2) for interrupting the electrical path based on the leakage determination of the leakage control unit (4). The leakage control unit (4) is provided with a filter section (42) for filtering the detected leakage current and having a frequency characteristic which the human body has with respect to an electric shock, a square operation section (43) for calculating the square operation value of a signal associated with the leakage current having passed through the filter section (42), and a threshold determination section (46) for performing the leakage determination according to the square operation value obtained by the square operation section (43). As a result, the leakage determination is performed according to the square operation value, so that the leakage can be detected with high accuracy to interrupt the leakage reliably even if the leakage current has a distorted waveform.
