Title:
WOOD LINING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/117343
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The wood lining solves the problem of installing natural linings on uneven surfaces. The wood lining (1) is composed of crosswise-arranged wood parts (2) and the sealing adhesive (3), connecting the wood lining into a whole. With this combination, the new wood lining (1) is bendable, more durable and has the ability to adapt to various surfaces. In addition, by using various shapes and thicknesses of wood parts (2), the wood lining (1) can be adapted to the needs and purpose of installing natural linings on uneven surfaces as needed.

PATENT CLAIMS

1. Wood lining, utilized as a floor or wall lining is characterized by being composed of crosswise-arranged wood parts (2), connected by a sealing adhesive (3).

2. Wood lining under Application 1 is characterized by the fact that wood parts (2) can be of various shapes, sizes and thicknesses, to adapt to various laying surfaces in combination with the sealing adhesive (3).

Description:
The subject of the invention is a wood lining that due to its specific nature predominantly belongs to the field of lining manufacture in the nautical industry; however, its versatility makes it applicable in all fields where linings are used.

There are several existing forms of linings, both from natural and artificial materials. The most common forms of the existing solutions predominantly encompass various floorings made of various types of wood (various parquets, laminates), cork, stone (marble and other types), rubbers (linoleums), other artificial materials and carpet floorings. For walls, washable paints, kerrock and glass are the predominantly used solutions. For the floor-wall combination, ceramic tiles and wood are the most commonly used materials.

Of all the linings mentioned above, natural wood linings represent the most popular form for the majority of end users. However, there are several issues with the application of these linings - when they are being laid, uneven surface parts continuously occur, making it difficult or requiring a great amount of effort to protect the lining by weighing it down. Furthermore, natural wood linings made of common types of wood (oak, beech, cherry, spruce, etc.) have a shorter life span and require a lot of time to be maintained properly. The manufacture of common wood linings requires great amounts of wood; since only the best parts are chosen, the process produces a great amount of waste. Due to the fast development of the society, the remaining wood parts are no longer used for their primary purpose, which is especially important when considering valuable or rare types of wood, such as teak, mahogany, iroco and other similar types. The technical issue solved by the invention is a new floor lining with a longer life span due to the recommended use of teak wood and above all with an effortless laying due to the bendable nature of the wood lining in question. The bendability and flexibility of the wood lining are achieved with use of a sealing adhesive (MS polymer).

The laying possibilities for the new wood lining are almost limitless - the lining can be adapted to almost all surfaces, without a demanding and time-consuming laying of other linings made of natural materials. The wood lining manufactured in this manner also significantly lowers the laying costs, while the new option of laying wood linings on uneven surfaces makes various surfaces more aesthetically pleasing, since artificial materials that have until now filled the void in the field of natural lining can be avoided. If needed, wood lining installed on uneven surfaces can also be additionally treated with abrasive materials in order to obtain a completely smooth surface.

It needs to be stressed that valuable natural resources are utilized to a great degree, namely 95 %, while the waste parts of these natural resources can be used to manufacture wood linings. The new wood lining is therefore also viable from an ecological point of view.

Below, the invention is depicted with the basic form of the wood lining:

Fig. 1 Wood lining Fig. 2 Bent wood lining The new wood lining 1, which represents the subject of the invention, is composed of wood parts 2 and the sealing adhesive 3. The most commonly used wood parts 2 are teak wood parts, distinguished by being water-resistant, UV- resistant and by not requiring protection with coatings, which is characteristic for other types of wood.

Between wood parts 2, arranged crosswise, is a sealing adhesive 3, connecting the wood parts 2 in such a manner that they represent the wood lining 1. In this combination of wood parts 2 and sealing adhesive 3, the wood lining gets new characteristics, such as bendability, durability and the ability to adapt to various surfaces. The shape and thickness of wood parts 2 can be adapted to the needs and purpose of the wood lining 1 as needed. Wood parts 2 can also be arranged in other forms, retaining the characteristics of the new wood lining 1.

With the sealing adhesive 3, various already composed wood linings 1 can be easily connected when laying the wood lining 1. The already installed wood linings 1 can also be treated with an abrasive material in order to obtain a completely smooth surface.

Wood parts 2 required for manufacturing the wood lining 1 can be made of waste natural material; in case a new natural resource is utilized, the utilization of material amounts to 95 %.
