A work assistance device for assisting in the work of storing a plurality of types of articles in a container box, said work assistance device comprising a processor, a storage unit, a display unit, and an instruction information reading unit, wherein: the storage unit stores at least the size of each type of article; the instruction information reading unit reads work instruction information for specifying packaging for storing the articles in the container box; on the basis of the work instruction information and information stored in the storage unit, the processor acquires the quantity and size of each type of article to be stored in the container box, and generates an assistance image, which is a bird's eye view of a three-dimensional space, and in which figures of the articles of each type to be stored in the container box are shown equally scaled down, taking into account the size of each type of article, and are arranged from a predetermined reference position in a predetermined direction and in a display order determined for each type of article on the basis of predetermined rules; and the display unit displays the assistance image.
