Abstract:
A work lifting and supporting device which can be utilized in such a manner that the work lifting and supporting device is mounted on a platform car type conveyance device which conveys an automobile body in an automobile assembly line while changing for each section of the line the height of the conveyance device. At least two center-fold double link mechanisms (3A, 3B) are disposed side by side on a base (8). Each of the center-fold double link mechanisms comprises a lower parallel link (10), an intermediate link member (9), an upper parallel link (12), and an upper link member (11). Work support bases (4A, 4B) are provided continuously to the upper link members (11). The work lifting and supporting device is provided with lock means (15) which, when the center-fold double link mechanisms are in an expanded upright position when the upper link members (11) are vertically lifted to a predetermined height, holds the double link mechanisms at the expanded upright position.
