Abstract:
The present invention facilitates work machine monitoring. This work machine monitoring system comprises: a first communication device that is provided in a work machine having a working device and a traveling device and is capable of wireless communication; a second communication device that is provided in a monitoring device provided in a field and is capable of wireless communication with the first communication device; a monitoring unit that is provided in the monitoring device and monitors the field; a determination unit that determines whether or not the work machine is within the monitorable range of the monitoring unit on the basis of the strengths of the signals from the first communication device and the second communication device; and an instruction unit that, if it is determined by the determination unit that the work machine is within the monitorable range, instructs the monitoring unit to perform monitoring. Furthermore, if it is determined by the determination unit that the work machine is within the monitorable range while the traveling device is in stoppage, the instructing unit instructs the monitoring unit to perform monitoring.
