Abstract:

A work machine provided with: a work head with a holder (302) for holding a part (410), a rotation device for rotating the holder, and a pivoting device that pivots the holder between a first orientation in which the tip of the holder faces downward and a second orientation in which the tip faces sideways; a movement device for moving the work head; and a control device. In the work machine, the control device has an operation control unit that, while moving the work head to a target position after a part is picked up by the holder in the first orientation, pivots the holder from the first orientation to the second orientation and rotates the holder from a pick-up angle, which is the rotation angle of the holder when picking up a part, to a target angle. If the part held by the holder will contact a portion of the work machine while the operation control unit is pivoting the holder from the first orientation to the second orientation and rotating the holder from the pick-up angle to the target angle, operation of the rotation device and/or the pivoting device is controlled so as to avoid contact of the part held by the holder with the portion of the work machine.
