Abstract:
This work machine (1) is configured to be able to perform either assist operation or power generating operation efficiently at the initial operation thereof. The work machine (1) is provided with: a machine body (2); an engine (60) provided to the machine body (2); a motor/generator (63) which operates as a motor to perform assist operation for assisting driving of the engine (60) and which operates as a generator by motive power of the engine (60) so as to perform power generating operation for generating electric power; a battery (66) for storing electric power generated by the motor/generator (63); a manipulation member (58) for manipulating the machine body (2); an initial operation determination unit (70e) for determining the initial operation of the machine body (1) upon manipulation by the manipulation member (58); a first setting unit (70f) for setting a torque of the motor/generator (63) so as to perform either the assist operation or the power generating operation when the initial operation determination unit (70e) has determined the initial operation; and a second setting unit (70g) for setting a torque which is for performing either the assist operation or the power generating operation and which is different from that set by the first setting unit (70f) when the initial operation determination unit (70e) has determined no initial operation.
