Abstract:
An object detection function is switched from off to on, on the basis of intent of an operator. A work machine comprises an operation device, a surroundings monitoring device, and a controller. The operation device outputs an operation signal to cause actions of the work machine. The surroundings monitoring device is a device for detecting whether there exists an object that should be recognized in a set area set in the surroundings of the work machine. The controller controls the work machine. The controller is capable of switching between settings of execution and non-execution of the object detection function in which movement of the work machine is restricted when the existence of an object is detected in the set region. The controller switches the settings of the object detection function to execution, when the operation signal are detected in a state in which the object detection function is set to non-execution.
