Abstract:
This work machine 1 takes advantage of vibration generated during operation thereof to cool a casing part using a cover that is attached to an exterior side of the casing part. The work machine comprises: a motor; a deceleration mechanism 24 for decelerating the rotation of the motor; a casing part (body housing 2, hammer case 5) which has a striking mechanism 30 and which houses therein the motor, the deceleration mechanism, and the striking mechanism; and a cover 50 which covers at least a portion of the exterior surface of the casing part. An air flow passageway (9a) is formed between the exterior surface of the hammer case 5 and the cover 50 so as to allow external air to flow in and flow out. The cover 50 is retained so as to be capable of making a small movement as a result of having an elastic member 64 sandwiched in the direction of an axial line A1. A front-back movement made by the cover 50 during operation causes air to go into or come out of the air flow passageway (9a), whereby the hammer case 5 is cooled.
