Abstract:
The present invention provides a work machine capable of assisting loading work without causing discomfort to the operator. A control device 40 of a work machine 1 includes: a permissible range calculation unit 46 that calculates a permissible range representing the permitted range in which movement is of a front work device 2 in the vertical direction is possible during a turning operation; a operation determination unit 45 that determines whether or not the work machine 1 is performing a conveyance operation; and an operation control unit 4 that, when it has been determined that the work machine 1 is performing a conveyance operation, controls a rotation operation of a boom 8 so that the position of the front work device 2 in the vertical direction is within the permissible range. The permissible range calculation unit 46 calculates, as the permissible range, the range of the rotation angle of the boom 8, as determined by: the lower limit of the position of the front work device 2 in the vertical direction, at which interference between the front work device 2 and a load-receiving machine can be avoided during the conveyance operation; and the upper limit of the position in the vertical direction which is found on the basis of at least one from among the dimensions of a bucket 10, capacity, the type of loading target, and the specific weight of the loading target.
