Abstract:
Provided is a workpiece cutting device that, for example, when used to cut a workpiece which is formed in a sheet form by partly connecting a plurality of small pieces, can reliably cut the workpiece in a short time, without damaging a portion other than a joint, or causing an increase in the size of the device. A workpiece cutting device 1 for cutting a sheet-like or thin plate-like workpiece W into one side workpiece WR and another side workpiece WL, the workpiece cutting device 1 comprising: a securing mechanism 3 for securing the one side workpiece WR; a gripping/rotating mechanism 4 for gripping the other side workpiece WL, and rotating the other side workpiece WL about a joint Wa between the one side workpiece WR and the other side workpiece WL as an axis; and a separating piece insertion mechanism 5 for separating the one side workpiece WR and the other side workpiece WL from each other at a fragile portion formed at the joint Wa by the rotating movement of the other side workpiece WL caused by the gripping/rotating mechanism 4.
