Abstract:
Provided is a structure by which a compact worm reducer can be easily obtained. A radially outwardly protruding flange (30) is provided on the entire circumference of the outer peripheral surface of one axial end section of an outer ring (19a) constituting a rolling bearing (18c) located on one axial side. A holding section (20a) is provided on a worm containing section (15a) at a position near one axial end thereof. The flange (30) is gripped axially between one axial surface (32) of the housing (12a) and a hold-down plate (33) supported by and affixed to the housing (12a).
