Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a woven fabric for airbags, which are a kind of automotive
safeguard, the woven fabric being inexpensive, improved in both slippage resistance
and tear strength, which influence airbag deployment performance, and having
low gas permeability; and to preferably provide a woven fabric for airbags which
is as easily recyclable as uncoated fabrics or a woven fabric for airbags which
is self-extinguishing with respect to combustibility. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS]
The woven fabric for airbags is a woven fabric made of synthetic fibers which
has been coated on at least one side with a thermoplastic synthetic resin. Due
to the coating with the thermoplastic synthetic resin, the slippage resistance
and tear strength of this woven fabric each is at least 1.3 times that of the uncoated
woven fabric. Preferably, the woven fabric for airbags is lowly gas permeable,
is self-extinguishing with respect to combustibility, and can be easily palletized
again.
