Abstract:
This invention provides a woven fabric for embossing that, in embossing, e.g., by ink jet printing, can provide a clear extrafine linear recess part having a width of not more than 1 mm and a recess part defined by a smooth curve. The woven fabric for embossing is a hairly pile woven fabric comprising a pile part and a ground weave part. The fineness of single yarns of pile yarns constituting the pile part is 0.05 to 3.5 dtex. The pile yarns are evenly distributed in an amount of 2 to 20% per unit area on the pile face side. In the cross section in a vertical direction of the hairly pile woven fabric, 40 to 60% of the sectional area of 50% part of the whole average pile height from the pile face side surface is accounted for by the pile yarn area.
