Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a wrinkle smoothing device which is capable of smoothing wrinkles formed on a web, and stabilizing the quality of the web even if the travel speed of the web is changed. [Solution] This wrinkle smoothing device is a device for smoothing wrinkles on a continuously conveyed web, and is equipped with a support shaft and a rotary roll that is provided so as to be rotatable about the support shaft. The rotary roll is equipped with a pair of widening rolls. Each of the widening rolls is equipped with: a plurality of contact plates that are arranged so as to form an inclined cylindrical roll, which is rotationally symmetrical with respect to the support shaft and coaxial with the support shaft; and a maintaining member that maintains the distance between the contact plates and the support shaft 3 at a predetermined distance. The pair of widening rolls is almost plane symmetrical with respect to a symmetry plane perpendicular to the support shaft, and the plurality of contact plates of each of the widening rolls are arranged so as to overlap each other in the rotation direction of the rotary roll.
