Title:
X-RAY RADIATION SOURCE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/119079
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an X-ray radiation source (2) in which, among the wall sections of a housing (51) for an X-ray tube (21), facing wall sections (51b) formed from alkali-containing glass are arranged to face a high-voltage area (VH) of a power supply section including a high voltage-emitting module (22) that generates a negative high voltage that is applied to a filament (52). As a result of this configuration, the generation of an electric field in the facing wall sections (51b) is minimized and alkali ions are prevented from separating from the glass. Changes in the inter-electrode potential relationship of the differing potentials of the filament (52), a grid (53), a target (54) and the like are thus minimized, making it possible to prevent the occurrence of defects such as the inability to retain a desired X-ray dose. As a result, it is possible to maintain stable operation.
