Abstract:
In order to provide an X-ray tube and an X-ray generation device that enable high-sensitivity detection of an initial degree of vacuum and that make it possible to preemptively prevent abnormal electrical discharge and monitor lifetime, this X-ray tube is provided with: an envelope (11) for retaining an interior at a predetermined degree of vacuum; an electron-emitting filament (12) and a focusing electrode (13) that are provided inside the envelope (11); and an X-ray-generating target (15) that is provided inside the envelope (11), opposite the filament (12) and the focusing electrode (13). The envelope (11) has an envelope body (11a) and an X-ray window section (16) having an X-ray transmittance and an electrical conductivity higher than those of the envelope body. One of the X-ray window section (16) and a positive electrode (14) is set to a lower potential than the other of the positive electrode (14) and the X-ray window section (16), and one of the X-ray window section and the positive electrode is set to a lower potential than the negative electrode filament (12) and the focusing electrode (13), thereby making it possible to detect an ion current (Ii) and/or an electron current (Ie) via the X-ray window section (16) or the positive electrode (14).
