Abstract:
A yarn holding device for a weft knitting machine formed in such a manner that stitches are not dense and a yarn is not broken even if the yarn is nipped.
A lock lever (30) is locked when biased by a wire spring (31) and the end of the short arm (30a) is brought into contact with the locking section (13a) of a nip claw (13) while nip claws (11, 13) and a nip claw (12) are closed. The intermediate portion between the short arm (30a) and the long arm (30b) of the lock lever (30) forms a support section, and the lock lever is supported in such a manner as to be displaced swingably about a connection pin (32) which connects the upper end of a small rod (15) and the nip claw (12). The upper end of a small rod (16) is connected to the two nip claws (11, 13) through a connection pin (33) while being sandwiched between the nip claws (11, 13). Since a capturing space (10c) is formed between the ends of the nip claws (11, 13) and the nip claw (12), the yarn can be pulled down in such a state that the yarn is not nipped even if the yarn is captured.
