Abstract:
An improved product filling device (10) for filling containers has a zero clearance rotor valve (14) engaging the interior of a rotor valve housing (16). The rotor (14) has a tapered conical sealing surface (48) engaged with a complimentary conical seating surface (38) in the housing. The position of the rotor (14) allows product to enter a cylinder (18) and be discharged from the cylinder (18) into a container via movement of a piston (16) inside the cylinder (18). Alternative structures and methods are disclosed.
