Abstract:
A zinc calcium borate compound and zinc calcium borate nonlinear optical crystal, a preparation method therefor, and a use thereof. The compound has a chemical formula of CaZn2(BO3)2 and a molecular weight of 288.44, and the compound is synthesized using a solid-phase reaction method. The crystal has a molecular formula of CaZn2(BO3) 2 and a molecular weight of 288.44, and the crystal is an orthorhombic crystal system. The space group thereof is Aba2, and unit cell parameters thereof are a = 11.7579 (7) Å, b = 8.5721(4) Å, c = 4.9421(3) Å, and Z = 4, V = 498.11(5) Å3. The crystal is grown using a co-solvent method, has a powder frequency multiplication effect of about three to four times the powder frequency multiplication effect of KDP(KH2PO4), and has a wide light transmission band, in which an ultraviolet absorption edge is less than 200 nm. By means of the method, a CaZn2(BO3)2 nonlinear optical crystal having a size on the centimeter level is obtained, which is used to prepare harmonic light output obtained from multiplying the frequency of 1064-nm fundamental frequency light outputted by an Nd:YAG laser two times, three times or four times or to produce ultraviolet frequency-multiplied light output, or used in the preparation of a frequency multiplication generator, a frequency upconverter or downconverter, or an optical parametric oscillator.
