[Problem] To provide a zoom lens having a high zoom ratio, little colour shift even during vibration control, and excellent optical properties. [Solution] A zoom lens comprising, in order from the object side, a first lens group (G1) that has positive refractive power, a second lens group (G2) that has negative refractive power and that moves from the object side to the image surface side during changes in magnification from the wide angle end to the telephoto end, a third lens group (G3) that has positive refractive power and that moves during changes in magnification, and a fourth lens group (G4) that has positive refractive power. Therein, during changes in magnification from the wide angle end to the telephoto end, the second lens group (G2) and the third lens group (G3) simultaneously pass through the points at which the respective image formation magnifications are -1 fold, the fourth lens group (G4) comprises a vibration-control lens group (G4A) on the side nearest to the object, the vibration-control lens group (G4A) comprising, in order from the object side, a negative lens (L41), a positive meniscus lens (L42) having a convex surface on the object side, and another negative lens (L43), either one of the negative lens (L41) and the other negative lens (L43) satisfying the following conditional expression.
