Abstract:
The zoom lens comprises a first lens group (G1) with a positive refractive power, a second lens group (G2) with a negative refractive power, a third lens group (G3) with a positive refractive power, and a fourth lens group (G4) with a positive refractive power, which are arranged in said order staring from the object side. The distances between each of the lens groups change as the magnifying power is changed from a wide-angle end state to a telescopic end state. The third lens group (G3) has a thirty-first lens group (G31) with a positive refractive power (positive lens group) and a thirty-second lens group (G32) with a negative refractive power (negative lens group), which are arranged in said order starting from the object side. The thirty-second lens group (G32) is moved to have a component orthogonal to the optical axis. If the amount by which the first lens group (G1) is moved when the magnifying power is changed from the wide-angle end state to the telescopic end state is denoted as (X1), and the focal distance of the zoom lens while it is in the wide-angle end state is denoted as (fw), then the following relationship, 2.6 < |x1|/fw < 8.0, must be satisfied.
