Abstract:

A $i(Thiobacillus thiooxidans) growth inhibitor which can sufficiently inhibit the growth of $i(Thiobacillus thiooxidans) under acidic conditions where the pH is 4 or lower as well as under neutral conditions, and which, when incorporated in a cement structure, can be sufficiently inhibited from releasing ions of the metals serving as the active ingredients thereof and can retain its effect over a long period. This inhibitor comprises a first ingredient selected from the group consisting of a nickel phthalocyanine powder, a nickel phthalocyanine derivative powder, and a mixture of these and a second ingredient selected from the group consisting of a tungsten powder, a tungsten compound powder substantially insoluble in water, a tungstate which is soluble in water but becomes substantially insoluble in water upon reaction with a cement, and a mixture of these.
