Abstract:
To suppress a reduction in the accuracy of detecting a specific gas concentration.SOLUTION: A sensor element comprises: a laminate having a plurality of laminated oxygen ion conductive solid electrolyte layers and provided inside with a measurement object gas circulation unit in which a measurement object gas is introduced and circulated; a measurement electrode disposed on the inner circumferential surface of the measurement object gas circulation unit; a measurement object gas-side electrode disposed in a portion of the laminate exposed to the measurement object gas; a reference electrode 42 disposed inside the laminate; and a porous air introduction layer 48 in which a reference gas serving as reference for detection of a specific gas concentration of the measurement object gas and circulated to the reference electrode 42. The air introduction layer 48 is divided into a rear-side portion 48a and an inlet-side portion 48b at a prescribed partitioning position as boundary from an inlet part 48c inward toward 50-95% of the overall length of the air introduction layer 48, the diffusion resistance Rb of the inlet-side portion 48b being larger than the diffusion resistance Ra of the rear-side portion 48a where the reference electrode 42 is contained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
