Abstract:
To provide a vehicular impact absorber which can absorb impact with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A vehicular impact absorber having: a collision load inputting member 14 which is provided on at least one of a vehicle front part and a vehicle rear part, and to which a collision load is inputted; a cylindrical member 20 which is provided on a vehicle longitudinal direction inner side of the collision load inputting member 14, and of which an end on a vehicle longitudinal direction outer side is connected to the collision load inputting member 14 side; a support member 18 which so supports the cylindrical member 20 as to be slidable in the vehicle longitudinal direction between a storage position on the vehicle longitudinal direction inner side and an operation position on the vehicle longitudinal direction outer side; a gas generation part 24 which, when detecting or predicting collision of a vehicle, generates a gas in a space 19 surrounded by the cylindrical member 20 and the support member 18, and slides the cylindrical member 20 to the operation position; and a valve 28 which is provided on the support member 18, and discharges the gas to the exterior in the state that the cylindrical member 20 is moved to the operation position and when a gas pressure in the space 19 becomes higher than a prescribed pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
