Abstract:
To provide an image reading apparatus capable of shortening a skew detection time in accordance with an actual document skew amount.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus 1000 includes: a surface reading sensor 208 for reading one side of a conveyed document; a skew detection unit (α) 271 and a skew detection unit (β) 272 for detecting a skew amount of the document according to each preset detection area; and a skew correction unit 270 for performing a skew correction on the basis of a detection result of the skew amount. The skew detection unit (α) 271 is set with a first detection area length (set to 12°) and the skew detection unit (β) 272 is set with a second detection area length (set to 3°) relatively shorter than the first detection area length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
