Abstract:
To provide a method for collecting a seawater containing plankton and producing a DHMBA (diva), an antioxidant substance, from plankton contained in the seawater.SOLUTION: The present invention comprises, for a seawater containing the plankton collected, performing filtration using a filter, and for the plankton remaining on the filter, taking out the cell content, then heating the taken out cell content, and producing 3,5-dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol from the heated heated-product, and in which, characterized, the plankton is a diatom.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
