Abstract:
To provide a technology for detecting a chipped part of a tool by a method different from conventional ones.SOLUTION: A machine tool 100 comprises a tool having a plurality of blades for cutting a workpiece, a main spindle for rotating the tool, an acquisition unit 90 for acquiring time-series physical quantities correlated to vibration of the main spindle, and a control device 101 for controlling the machine tool. The control device calculates at least one of a first vibration intensity of the main spindle corresponding to a first frequency, which is equal to a TPF (Tooth Passing Frequency) correlated to the rotation speed of the main spindle and to the number of blades of the tool minus a SRF (Spindle Rotation Frequency) correlated to the rotation speed of the main spindle, and a second vibration intensity of the main spindle corresponding to a second frequency, which is equal to the SRF plus the TPF, based on the time-series physical quantities. It detects a chipped part of the tool when at least one of the first vibration intensity, the second vibration intensity, and a composite value of the first vibration intensity and the second vibration intensity satisfies a predetermined condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
