Abstract:
To provide a cutting tool with which effect of surface hardening treatment such as nitriding treatment remains at a rake surface after the rake surface is ground in the re-grinding of the cutting tool, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A cutting tool 1 is made of a high-speed tool steel and has multiple surface-hardened cutting edges 2. A surface of the cutting edge 2 is coated with a hard film 5.
