Abstract:
To provide a recording medium transport device and an image formation system that can decrease the occurrence rate of paper jam.SOLUTION: The recording medium transport device includes: a transport part that has a first transport passage part and a second transport passage part, which are switchable and transport a recording medium that an image is to be formed on; and a controlling part that controls the transport part so that the transport passage part for the recording medium is switched from the first transport passage part to the second transport passage part when the first transport passage part fulfills a predetermined condition. For example, when the first transport passage part fulfills a predetermined condition, this includes the case that the transport time required for the recording medium to take for the transportation in the first transport passage part exceeds a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
