Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a hydrogenating catalyst at a low cost by adding water and mineral acid of specified amount to a spent fluid-catalytic-cracking catalyst and allowing them to react and separating silica component as solid substance and recovering alumina component as an aluminum salt aq. soln. CONSTITUTION:Water and mineral acid of at least one equivalent for one equivalent of aluminum contained in a spent fluid-catalytic-cracking catalyst incorporating silica and alumina components are added to this cracking catalyst and allowed to react with each other. The silica component after reaction is separated as solid substance and the alumina component is recovered as an aluminum salt aq. soln. Then zeolite is synthesized by utilizing the solid substance of the recovered silica component as a raw material and also an alumina carrier is produced by utilizing the recovered aluminum salt aq. soln. as the raw material. This alumina carrier can be utilized as a hydrogenating catalytic carrier.
