Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify p-type or n-type of a thermoelectric element block by forming a conducting body for connecting terminal parts, so that the terminal parts of a thermoelectric semiconductor piece has regularity in forming the upper surface to be flush with the lower surface and first and second thermoelectric semiconductor pieces (having different shapes of terminal parts) are aligned alternately in series. SOLUTION: A longitudinal groove 26 is formed in an n-type thermoelectric semiconductor block 1. A longitudinal bulkhead 27 is made to remain, and an n-type block 21 having a groove is formed. Similarly, a p-type block 22 having a groove is formed from a p-type thermoelectric semiconductor block 2. At this time, the pitches of the longitudinal grooves at both blocks are made identical. The width of a longitudinal bulkhead 27 of the n-type block 21 having groove, and the width of a longitudinal bulkhead 24 of the p-type block 22 having the groove, are changed. A connecting layer is formed at the coupling part of both blocks, and an integrated block is formed. By changing the width of the longitudinal bulkheads 27 and 24, the cross-sectional area of an n-type thermoelectric semiconductor piece 51 and a p-type semiconductor element piece 52 of the thermoelectric element can be changed. Whether the thermoelectric element block is the p-type or n-type can be identified by the cross-sectional shape of the thermoelectric semiconductor element piece.
