A first lever (10) pivots on a shaft (4) located at equal distances from two positions (A,B). A second lever (12) carries the chip gripper (20) and pivots in the opposite direction about the end of the first lever at a speed which is a specific ratio to that of the first. The lever lengths (h1,h2) and the speed ratio are selected so that in the two end positions (Ea,Eb) the levers are fully extended and the gripper is above either of the two positions
