To provide a work instruction system and a work instruction method, capable of dealing with on-demand production, and coping with a power failure, a communication failure or the like even if it occurs, and to provide a display medium used in the work instruction system and the work instruction method.
As a work instruction document, the display medium including a display part 1 having a memory property is used. The display medium is provided with a storage part 2, and previously stores contents of work corresponding to each specification. When an instruction reception part 4 receives instruction of a specification change from the outside, a display control part 3 reads the corresponding contents of the work from the storage part 2, and rewrites display contents of the display part 1. Thereby, the on-demand production is realized. The storage part 2 is made to previously store the contents of the work to cope with the specification change by only an easy instruction from the outside even if a host computer 11 breaks down. Accordingly, a production line robust in trouble can be constructed.
