Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rise in costs of the parts of a handpiece adapted for treating, e.g., a root canal, by facilitating replacement of a fiber adapted for irradiating an affected part with a laser beam, and simplifying the structure of the fiber to be replaced. SOLUTION: An attaching/removing member 1b for attaching and removing a therapeutic fiber 3 is attached to one end of a clamping member 1a constituting a body 1, and a fixing member 4 for fixing a guide fiber 2 and an attaching member 5 for attaching the therapeutic fiber 3 are fitted inside the clamping member 1a and the attaching/removing member 1b. The fixing member 4 comprises a female screw 4a attached to the attaching/removing member 1b and a male screw 4b bonded to the end of the guide fiber 2, and the attaching member 5 comprises a through hole 5a formed in its center, a guide part 5b leading to the through hole 5a, and a fixing part 8 facing the through hole 5a. When the therapeutic fiber 3 is inserted through the through hole 1g in the attaching/removing member 1b, the end of the therapeutic fiber 3 makes contact with the guide part 5b, is guided through the through hole 5a, reaches the vicinity of the guide fiber 2, and is thereafter fixed in place by the fixture 8.
